Each large category is a light, and can light up a room, in which secondary category will appears as objects
E.g. the Gallery room is lit up, and there are some secondary objects like camera, painting board and computer, category the photos, paintings, and Photoshop image processing works.

The preliminary idea is a good one but you are going to have to go a lot farther to make it work in terms of people interacting. You might want to start with a light switch or something that is more like the first step in lighting a space. The second level looks nice and looks like it has potential but you need to get the users to that point and then you need to think about what will they see when they actually look at pieces in the gallery. Also I don't see a more traditional pdf CV.
